Three new faces have taken the helm at some of Blackpool’s most iconic attractions.

Rob Smith, Kyle Woodcock and Janine Marshall have been appointed as the new General Managers of The Blackpool Tower, Sandcastle Waterpark and Madame Tussauds Blackpool respectively. All three live locally and have extensive leisure experience.

Rob Smith steps into the role of General Manager at The Blackpool Tower, where he will oversee the operational, commercial and strategic direction of the resort’s most famous landmark. A lifelong Fylde Coast resident, Rob brings significant leadership experience from his previous General Manager roles at Fleetwood Town Football Club and, most recently, Morecambe Football Club.

Kyle Woodcock has been appointed General Manager at Sandcastle Waterpark, bringing with him eight years of experience across several major Blackpool attractions and a wealth of local knowledge and operational expertise. His appointment comes at an exciting time for the Waterpark, which is preparing for a landmark year as it celebrates its 40th anniversary in June.

Janine Marshall has been appointed as the permanent General Manager of Madame Tussauds Blackpool, following her successful tenure as Head of Operations. The iconic attraction continues to operate under the first-ever UK franchise agreement for the Madame Tussauds brand. Looking ahead, the team is preparing to unveil an exciting new figure for the 2026 season – none other than Blackpool regular, Amanda Holden.

Kate Shane MBE, Managing Director of Blackpool Tourism Ltd, said: “I am delighted to welcome Rob to one of the most iconic jobs in the country. Having previously held this role myself, I know how special it is.

“Kyle and Janine both know Blackpool’s attractions incredibly well and are the perfect people to take the helm at such an exciting time.

“Guest experience will be at the heart of all their roles as we continue striving to deliver world‑class experiences and compelling reasons to visit Blackpool.”
