Where’s the fun? t’s here – Pam Ann, the A-list air-hostess to the stars is back with a brand new show which she promises will bring the thrill back to flying.

Mum's the Word

26-31 May

Five women… five stories… one common thread… an hilarious and intimate look at motherhood.

Mums the World castMum’s The Word has played four record-breaking UK tours and a West End run; and the award-winning, sell-out theatrical phenomenon is on the road again, liberating, enlightening and educating, but mainly just washing the secret, funny, dirty laundry of motherhood in public.

The all-star cast features Bernie Nolan, star of Brookside and The Bill, along with Sarah White (Brookside) and Pauline Fleming (Coronation Street). This award-winning production has received critical acclaim and attracted sell-out audiences throughout Australia, Canada, and across Europe. UK audiences have loved every minute of the show which the press claim “should be sponsored by the NHS”.

Come on JeevesCome On, Jeeves

2-7 June

Ian Dickens Productions are proud to present the wonderfully funny comedy Come On, Jeeves by P.G. Wodehouse and Guy Bolton starring well-loved British star Anita Harris and the legendary Victor Spinetti, film and television actor Derren Nesbitt (Where Eagles Dare, Special Branch), Myfanwy Waring (PC Amber Johannsen in The Bill) and Judy Buxton (On The Up).

P.G.Wodehouse was one of the most outstanding and ingenious writers of the time, a remarkable character who’s humorous and entertaining writing contains some of the most memorable verbal sparring and witty one-liners ever written.

Whilst Bertie Wooster is out of town, his gentleman's gentleman, the inimitable Jeeves, is on loan to the Earl of Towcaster. The Earl, known as Bill, has been losing heavily on the horses, so decides to become a bookie in the guise of 'Honest Patch Perkins' - but it doesn't quite go to plan! With an unpaid bet, a furious punter on his heels, a loud, wealthy, widowed American clairvoyant wanting to but his crumbling mansion and his fiancee and family asking awkward questions, this could be a challenging day for Bill, which only Jeeves can sort out in his usual impeccable style.

This sublime comedy from Ian Dickens Productions follows the great success of the recent critically productions of Noel Coward's Star Quality and J.B. Priestley's Dangerous Corner.

Lawrence ClarkLawrence Clark

6 June

Born with cerebral palsy Lawrence Clark's outlook on life as a disabled person shapes his fantastic outlook on comedy. His first one-man show, The All-Star Charity Show, won critical acclaim at Edinburgh Fringe in 2003. The show was named Critics' Choice in The Times and he was described as a 'powerful comedy voice' and 'stunningly hard-hitting' by critic Kate Copstick in The Scotman's round-up of the best shows that year.

This show, The Jim Davidson Guide to Equality, has been very well-received and has toured many theatres and art centres - Responding to Jim Davidson canceling a show when wheelchair users were in his audience, Clark vowed to cancel if Jim turned up to his show! The show goes on to compare Davidson's ideas about equality to those of Tony Blair.

Clark has also acted with Graeae Theatre Company and writen for the BBC website Ouch. In 2005 he was named 'Pick of the Fest' by Radio Merseyside and won the Dada Award for Best Performer. Been a On BBC Radio 4 as script advisor and contributor for a two-part documentary on comedy and disability called Should We Be Laughing? he also appeared on a number of other television programmes such as The Message, Feedback and Word of Mouth.

In 2004, Clark was profiled by BBC Northwest Tonight. Later that year he was a guest reporter on BBC 2's Newsnight, writing and presenting a film about disability and the Abortion Act. I recently completed the BBC / Channel 4 Talent Fund Course for Disabled Actors.
